Alexander Aizman, MD
Dr Alexander Aizman graduated from NYU School of Medicine earning top honors in Medicine, Surgery, Neurology and Pediatrics Clerkships.
He completed a residency in ophthalmology at the world famous Manhattan Eye, Ear and Throat Hospital- NYU Medical Center. During his final residency year he was selected as a Chief Resident at Bellevue Hospital.
Subsequently, Dr Aizman completed a two-year fellowship in Diseases and Surgery of the Retina and Vitreous, Uveitis and Ocular Oncology at the Kellogg Eye Center- University of Michigan Hospital, recognized as one of the top ten retinal centers in the USA.
Currently, Dr Aizman is a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Ophthalmology at NYU Medical Center and an Attending Physician on the Retina Service at Bellevue Hospital.
He is deeply committed to training a new generation of retinal specialists by teaching and supervising retina fellows from the Columbia U./Harkness Eye Institute- Vitreous-Retina-Macula Consultants at Bellevue Hospital.
In addition to teaching, Dr Aizman is involved in various research projects at NYU and New York Eye and Ear Infirmary. His scientific articles appeared in journals such as Ophthalmology, Archives of Ophthalmology and RETINA.
In recognition of his professional accomplishments, Dr Aizman was interviewed on CBS Evening News and NYU Doctor's Radio- SIRIUS Channel 114, and has been featured in various national print media.
In 2009 he was recognized as one of America's Top Ophthalmologists by Consumer's Research Council of America.
Dr Aizman enjoys running, reading, and spending family time with his wife and daughter.
